AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Dropped my turntable off because one channel was cutting out. Yanosh had it for over 3 weeks. I had to call repeatedly, never got a quote, never got updated unless I called. Charged me $200 and when I get home same issue as if he never touched it. Of course the issue is likely with my preamp but for God sake test my equipment before you touch it! Scammed me for $200 and I’m exactly back to where I started.

So a quick recap. My turntable worked perfectly fine when I dropped it off (because the issue is with my amp). Without testing it you took it apart… Noodled around with it for 3 weeks. Installed the cartridge I provided and replaced a couple wires that cost $5. Charged me $200 and when I take it home and tested your “fine tuning” my scale registered “OL” IT HAS A 5g WEIGHT CAPACITY. MY CARTRIDGE CALLS FOR 2g! I backed off the counter weight significantly to bring it back to the 2g it calls for.

Brought in my garrard 80 turntable to have serviced and a cartridge installed
He put me off for 6 months because he lost the headshell
I go pick up the turntable He tells me he would look for the headshell
He refused to take responsibility for losing the headshell
A year later calls me and says he found it
Drive to the shop shows me a headshell totally wrong . The lab 80 headshell is unique
I informe him that I found one on ebay paid 85.00$ us plus shipping
He refuses to pay for the headshell
Not a word from him sense
Beware he is not responsible for parts he loses

Took him 3 years

Over the past five years or so, I’ve brought in two reel-to-reel tape decks and one amplifier to Janusz for repairs. All have been returned in good (and lasting) working order. Both Janusz and I have had to be patient while he’s located difficult-to-find parts, but he’s hung in on those searches, and I’m grateful that there’s someone in my area with his connections and his technical competence. His expertise in analogue gear is an increasingly rare commodity in this digital age, and as long as I still enjoy my audio ‘antiques,’ I feel fortunate that there’s someone reasonably close by who can help maintain them!
