The camera developed a fault
after 3 months of normal use; specifically,
the mirror inside became pitted due to
overheating. The store’s receipt states a
24-month warranty covering all items except
consumables and apparel, with a process for
handling faults that includes repair,
replacement, or refund. Upon returning the
camera, I was accused of causing the damage,
which is untrue and caused me to disappointingly tell others that the warranty is not worth the paper its written on. On top of this the false accusations have upset me dearly.

While some of the staff are lovely, others are just rude and have been “getting away” with being rude for a while now.

I am avoiding CEX as a whole and almost definitely not using this store in Accrington again.

They accept Items below standards, and this is clearly shown by the review below me.

UPDATE: Been back and forth with CEX and they continue to “Accuse” me of damaging the item, even with evidence that shows this is not the case. I have since requested my account to be closed and for this to go through small claims. Its sad to have to go this far over a mere PS150, but this is now more about principal over money.

Yesterday I bought a phone in this store, a young girl served me, I asked if if I changed my mind I could return it, today I went to return it because I decided I didn’t want it after all, I was surprised when I received the voucher. I didn’t pay with the voucher, only in cash, I asked what what should I do with it? I wanted my money. The guy who served me asked the boss whether to give me the money or the voucher, and he said it was a voucher. It was the first and last time I was in this store, I don’t intend to buy anything from you, reading the reviews and the returns are not flattering, I feel cheated and even forced to spend my money in your store, which I have no desire to do. I know that everyone wants to make money but not this way. I will definitely not recommend this store to anyone I know.

Typical cex. Good choice of stock. Clean store. The only problem is the staff that work there. They seem to have lost there care for there job. No hello or be with you in a minute no asking what are you looking for. Also happy to let you que for over 20 minutes and not even speak to any customers. Its very strange. They all look as if they don’t want to be there. CEX used to be a great shopping experience. Now you may aswell shop online as that is the experience you get here unfortunately!
