I had serious issues with a brand new PS1300 Asus laptop I bought from here and had to contact Asus to have it fixed under their manufacturers warranty. They had two unsuccessful attempts and to cut a long story short they basically didn’t care. They had my money and that’s all they were bothered about.

I went in to the Tunbridge Wells branch of Currys with the hope of having some help from them. I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much as it was out of their 30 days return period, but it was my last port of call before I was going to go down some form of legal pursuit.

I was most pleasantly surprised. I went in ready to be turned away, but they listened to me, looked into the details I had on my emails and then decided to help me replace the unit with another brand like-for-like right there and then.

This issue had caused me some serious problems with me being able to complete my self-employed work, and by this team helping in this way it helped me more than they can know.

A big thank you from myself, and a big well done to what I felt were a courteous, patient, professional, friendly, and very helpful and most importantly understanding group of people. I thanked the manager in person but wanted it on record here.

A few weeks ago, I went to Curry’s with a friend to help her replace an ancient tablet.
After selecting a new replacement, we enquired about having the data transfer & set up done, as neither of us are very good with technology! First of all, the salesperson said we’d have to make an appointment. I pointed out to him that I’d rung a number (main customer service, not T Wells) only 3 days prior to our visit, & had been assured that this could be done without an appointment. It was important to my friend to get everything done on this visit, due to her ongoing health issues. After some discussions we were passed to a gentleman called Reece. Who was really friendly, & it turns out to be incredibly patient too. It took ages for him to do the transfer & set up, due to the age of the original tablet, & the lack of passwords that would work! He was a hero, friendly & chatty throughout the whole arduous process. He is a real asset to the Tunbridge Wells branch, & made what could have been a really stressful visit for my friend, a calming positive experience.

Horrible staff members, never help, even if being asked. I have been there a few times and it is always the same, even if it is quiet. Recently went to the store to buy a phone and a laptop (I knew what I wanted, just had to pay for it and take it). I was being ignored for over half an hour but when other clients would walk in they would be attended to. Then I approached one of the staff but was put on a waitlist, waited another half an hour and then left. It is not a single case, my every single experience has been like this with this store. On another occasion I went to ask for a laptop and was told by a blond lady ‘We have it in-stock but you have to buy it online’!!! It is a shame because Currys is a good retailer, I have shopped with them a lot before (other stores) as I love tech, but this store is just a joke.
