I won’t be giving these boys in here the pleasure of my appearance again. Been in a handful of times in 5 years and can say never again. Every time I have been in, their excuse of incompetence and lack of knowledge is because the person serving me was new! That’s every time I’ve been into this shop! Now I appreciate people have to be trained up but when I’m being refused custom because said employee says they don’t accept the item, another employee corrected him, after challenging, and after challenging the items and price, I then had all 4 employees ranting at me, this that and the other! Their customer service is non existent with certain customers, very abrupt and challenging to talk to. One out of the four lads that was serving today was great, all the others, I’d be looking at retraining in the “How you speak to customers” and the “technology being sold” area’s. Both of which should be a standard practice working in a shop such as this one. I’ve worked customer service for over 20 years, I have never spoken too or been spoken of in the way I am speaking about these people that work here today, rude, obnoxious and entitled that know nothing about the products they’re selling or buying, basically narrows down what I’m trying to say today. Funnily I took the same item to another cex out the area and was dealt with appropriately and sold the item with no problems. Definitely the behaviour of individuals, mainly management in this particular store and not how cex obviously want to do business elsewhere.

Not a great experience. Took back two Sega Megadrive games that I’d bought from CEX online. The staff were quite rude and abruptly informed me that they needed to send an email to the stores which had sent the items because “you might have swapped them”.

They said it would be an hour, but when I returned after an hour, I was told that it would take however long it took for the store to email them back.

I had to leave as I was just visiting the area with family, and was assured by the staff that they would send an e-voucher that day. This did not arrive and later the following day I had to send multiple messages using their awful online system to try to get my refund.

In the end, leaving a negative Trustpilot review did the trick though, but it really shouldn’t have to go that far.

Never had a problem with this company until today, bought a used Xbox console with controller 2 months ago,
Unfortunately the left thumb stick decided to break while using a of couple days ago, I went to exchange the faulty controller with proof of receipt in store, to be told we are not swapping it as it’s damaged, in the staffs words “I’ve been gaming 30 years and that’s never happened” apparently this was a good enough excuse to not exchange my faulty controller.

Receipt states : 24 month warranty on everything, if goods become faulty in the course of normal use after 30 days of purchase the operates will repair / replace the item.

Take your money else where and never trust a warranty from this company
