I bought a new phone from a man in the shop who’s name begins with J, he was very professional and pleasant. I wanted to keep my old number and despite 4 visits back to the shop it wasnt going to happen. Each time I was told a different reason. I decided to cancel my contract and buy elsewhere. A young male shop worker then said I cant return the phone to the shop, you have to do it with O2 Head office. This turned out to be also untrue. Returning the said member of staff was very disrespectful wouldnt accept he gave me wrong information. A man called Adam who is also a staff member said get your receit (some 18 miles to return to my home again) and we will cancel the contract, (as I am still in the 14 day return period) I had explained I no longer had the box. He said this will be OK. Returning again later that day I had the misfortune to meet the Official female Manager. She was curt, abrupt and dismissive. Basically telling me “I am the Manager, no box no cancellation, I suggest pay it off (PS800 plus) and sell it”
Is this how O2 want paying members of the public to be treated?
I have never had such a drama buying a phone before. I suggest anyone buying from them be very careful. I hope you never have to deal with the female Manager.

We were told we would get sent a message within 20 minutes so we could go back into the shop and get the problem sorted.
Then at 1:40pm we decided to make our way back into the store. When the assistant sat is at her desk. First thing she told us was she had a video call for a new job as a driving instructor and she would finish our appointment then. We did not get our issue resolved as she said the system had locked us out for two hours.. The couple who took our place as we left at 1:55pm were also told the same story of video call at 2:00pm. We just wanted to pay outstanding balance on unrepairable damage phone and get a new phone. I still do not have a new phone as we cannot do this online.

Use to be a good store with competent friendly staff. But now they’re just too busy and even rude!

We found them inexplicably unfriendly and unhelpful. Despite being long time customers we didn’t get anywhere. We had to go elsewhere and won’t be using 02 in future!

It’s one thing to disagree on tech issues. It’s another to be incompetent and offensive to loyal paying customers.

Many local alternatives still know how to treat customers so we’ll be changing providers.
