On 15 June, we bought an air purifier online, though we soon had a change of heart, as Costco had an obviously better deal. So we decided to call customer service and cancel the order early in the morning on 17 June. The customer service told us they will process the cancellation and issue the refunds, as the item hasn’t yet been dispatched. However, at 15:29 we received an email saying that the item has just been dispatched. So basically the customer service didn’t cancel the order as promised. We soon called again to customer service, and they told us to refuse the delivery and ask for the item to be returned to the warehouse, and all would be fine and the refund would be issued. We returned the item with the delivery that took place on 18 June.
After waiting several days, we did not receive any confirmation that the item was returned and refund issued, so we called again, and this time Currys issued us an email saying that the refund would be issued once the warehouse had received the item. We started to be fairly concerned, as we were under the impression that the item would go back with the delivery upon refusal immediately.
And this is when Currys customer service started to become extremely unhelpful. We called several times between 24 June and 5 July, and each time getting the unhelpful response that Currys is not responsible for the warehouse, that they cannot directly contact the warehouse and can only wait, that they have emailed the warehouse and haven’t heard back. Each time they also promised to get back to me in 1-3 days, but they never did.
On 5 July, we finally found the email of the warehouse, but the warehouse insisted that they had not received the returned item, which was, however, as far as we can tell, returned with the delivery on or shortly after 18 June. So now the item is in limbo, because a) the customer service was unable to process the cancellation, and b) told us to return the item with the delivery.
To compare, both Amazon and Costco have significantly better customer service and return policies. From my humble opinion, merely the avoidance of the risks of dealing with Currys customer service is worth a lifetime of Costco membership fee or Amazon Prime.
They didn’t email me a receipt or collection code, so I had to call them up and confirm I’d actually be able to pick my items up with the card that I paid for them. When I went into the store to do just that, they again did not give me a receipt (despite the fact that I asked for it multiple times) and it was only afterwards when I checked my bank against the price of the products I received that I found out I’d been OVERCHARGED by PS10. This company literally stole my money and refused to send me any form of paperwork to prove it!
Use literally any other competitor, like Scan or Amazon or your local PC shop in the town where you live. Do not give money to these thieves!
They would ask us to check it all over to make sure it was all ok and they would take all the packaging away with them.
What happened was, they put it in the front door and left.
Sooooo no idea there, delivery drivers or sales wrong.
