As it ‘appens, I have yet to ask Luke to actually carry out any physical work on any of my IT equipment (although I’m sure that day will come, what with the rate at which my kit goes phut….)

But the reason for this is that Luke has not hesitated to give me advice for free on two separate occasions where he felt minor adjustments that I could make myself could solve the problem, rather than insisting that I go down the route of paying him to make the adjustments on those occasions.

This is honesty and integrity of the highest order – which is sadly lacking in many areas nowadays – and I would therefore (a) not hesitate to consult Luke as the first port of call when I encounter any trickier IT issues, and (b) enthusiastically encourage anybody else to do the same.

After trying everything on the web to resuscitate on my 3mth old HP Ryzen 7 that suffered an anaphylactic shock after ingesting a windows 11 update (or something we didn’t clock)… Luke took over and within 48hrs it was back on track for a very modest fee. I was very impressed, Luke is very relaxed, easy to talk to, and kept me updated, did what he said he was going to and I would highly recommend him. I have to admit I wasn’t sure it was fixable, having already exhausted the blue screen options, including using an external reboot and hard reset… but Luke knew exactly what to do and apparently had seen a lot of similar cases.
Unfortunately I still have an outstanding error message which needs fixing.

Luke came up trumps when my laptop died, requiring a new motherboard and reinstallation of Windows. Finished within a day of the part arriving, including restoring my data from backup. Efficient and helpful at a reasonable cost. Thoroughly recommended.

UPDATE 4 YEARS LATER – No problems since motherboard replacement until last week when the laptop wouldn’t boot, getting stuck on a blue screen. Took it to Luke who checked the hardware and sorted the software issue, all within 24 hours. Working fine now. Luke was, as last time, friendly and helpful. It’s good to find someone reliable and knowledgeable who is in it for the long haul.
