I went to get my Xbox controller repaired, I already knew the issue and explained to the staff. The right bumper sensor is either dirty and needs to be cleaned or broken as I’ve had this issue with my previous controllers.
After days go by, I followed up with them multiple times – visiting and calling. The staff told me nothing, just told me I have to wait.
After 40 days later, they call me to pick up the controller. So I went, and I check the receipt it says “Declined”. So I asked, the staff said the part is out of stock so they cannot fix it.
I cannot believe it took them 40 days to find out. It’s like I just gave them money so they can tell me what I already know, and just to keep my controller for 40 days; when I can just take it to somewhere else, or just send it back to Microsoft.
Unprofessional and inconvenient. I had so much expectations and wanted to bring my other broken electronics but I guess I have learned my lesson.
++ I think it’s absurd taking 40 days to know that, or I would’ve been less annoyed if I was informed about it earlier. When I called for an update after 3 weeks, the controller was still not being seen. And I asked if there is any kind of timeline, a very vague one at least (like maybe another week), but the answer was always “we don’t know”. And if I knew about it earlier, I would’ve just asked for it back. Also, I asked the staff, if I can return to the store to get the same controller fixed without diagnostic fee when I bring the parts or when the parts are in stock (which I’ll of course be paying for the service/parts fee), he just said they wouldn’t do it anyhow, which sounds very different from what you’re saying here; you said the order is still in and it’s better for me to keep the controller while waiting. From my understanding, the staff refused to fix it after charging it and keeping it for 40 days. I wish you guys could communicate better.
