If you want to do mobile number transfer (Rufnummermitnahme) better to do it yourself via the website and not in this store.

Experience: I had really bad experience transferring my account from Vodafone to Telekom. I first went to the store on a Saturday and assisted promptly by Frau E*** then created a prepaid application with Portierung on my behalf. Then, I was told to come back Monday. And so I did, I went back the coming Monday only to be told that actually the process would take 10 days or so. So I was advised to come back again.

I did go back again after few days. There were two guys who assisted me on 14.02, they said Vodafone rejected the first application (which is ok because it happens) but then they promised I do not need to worry and they promised that they will resubmit the application and I do not need to do anything more…

I then went back about one week later and only to find out that the second application NEVER took place. The new guy assisting me said that no application was re-sent after the original one that got rejected. In short, they failed to fulfill what they say they’ll do or, at least, failed to inform me ahead that it didn’t happen.

So then I asked if we can resend another application (for the third time!). But was rejected given the lack of available prepaid simcard. I also asked if there are other alternatives. He said none, and that I just have to wait…

I went home and googled online and apparently THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE: Which is to do the application online….

TLDR: MY ADVICE, Do this process online via their WEBSITE by yourself. They have good and useful guide + virtual identification process. I submitted my online application on a Saturday then got response on the next Monday that I will get new simcard in the coming days. Everything went really smooth and fast. – versus the experience in the store.

I give one star for their nice store in Schildergasse and popcorns on weekends (which I had multiple times due to multiple times I have been asked to come back LOL)

Do not go to this shop for assistance or service that you can do directly via the internet.

Herr Altuntas at the shop in Koln Schildergasse is the best phone carrier service staff I’ve ever worked with in Germany.

As an American it can be a pretty frustrating process handling these things with a different system. But Altuntas made everything quick and simple, and tried everything to give me the best plan possible. Also told me about places I could visit here in the city.
