That 3rd party repair agent did not fix the fault eventhough they confirmed a new screen was needed all they did was cleaned the tv screen and factory reset the tv after having the tv at the repair centre for 2 weeks.
They never told me that they didn’t fit a new screen and I wasn’t provided with any documentation of the repair until I queried what part was replaced on the tv as the same fault was still present when it arrived back from repair. This is when I was told NO part was replaced by the repair centre and the only thing that was done to the tv was a factory reset and the screen display cleaned.
Anway the TV was returned with same fault present and as a result I lost faith in that repair agent as they wanted to take the TV back again to the repair centre to investigate the fault so I complained to the insurance company and they advised I had the option to seek a 2nd opinion from another repair agent as long as they were a registered company and they are authorised to repair the product which was a TV in which Blu-Gates are able to repair TV/LCD screens and the business was VAT registered then I could go ahead and request an independent assessment.
I contacted Blu-Gates via email on the 18/04/24 explaining the situation and I was contacted by Victor from Blu-Gates the same day where we discussed the fault description and I sent the pictures of the fault as evidence of the screen issues as the entire picture and text on screen was distorted which was due to accidental damage caused by a 2 year old toddler as well as the make and model of the tv along with the serial number.
A very reasonable price was given for an independent evaluation assessment report for my insurance provider who agreed they would reimburse me once they had all the necessary documentation.
Victor from Blu-Gates sent me his conclusions from the assessment evaluation report that the tv did require a new screen but it was his expert opinion that the TV was beyond economical repair due to the cost of a replacement part and labour cost on top would cost more than a replacement TV.
The report was sent to me on the 18/04/24 the same day as my original contact with Victor at Blu-Gates and I sent the documentation on to my insurance company provider who I had my TV insurance with and they sent me a refund of the fee I paid Blu-Gates on the same day.
I then received confirmation from my insurance provider on the 19/04/24 that the claims team technical engineer had looked at Victor’s report from Blu-Gates and concluded that the decision was the correct one that the TV was beyond economical repair and my claim for a replacement TV was authorised on the 19/04/24.
I have now been able to order a new TV thanks to Blu-Gates speedy help in writing this report for me as the existing repair agent had messed me around since early February 2024.
I was very pleased with Blu-Gates and would use them for all my technology repair products going forward

Laptop screen suddenly stopped working and because I use it for both gaming and work, I needed a quick fix. Visited the shop and dropped my laptop off with Victor. Within a couple of hours he had taken a look at it and informed me I’d need a new screen and that he could get the parts ordered and have it fixed the following day. Returned to collect my laptop the next day and it was sorted. New screen is good quality and parts/labour was reasonably priced.
