Firstly, the staff were excellent, I mean REALLY great including the manager. Long story short, 6 month old MBP died on Monday. Took to the Norwich store today. Somehow a slug (?) got into my machine and shorted it out! The MBP is in a dry clean environment so I’m totally miffed as it never leaves my desk. Now having their “Apple Care” package is not all it cracked up to be. I don’t suppose o am the only person to believe it’s a like for like replacement or fix. Nope. I had an excess of PS229 to pay. In my situation I never saw any paperwork regarding care etc as it was through my company. I totally get it’s not Apple’s fault but the Apple “Care” sucks. In my business given the such bizarre circumstances, I would have wavered the excess in favour of a brand loyal customer of over 20 years… Even just some help towards the excess would have kept me coming back. I guess all the bolt on insurances are just a money spinner for these companies. Would I but an Apple product again, probably just because of the integration etc and the product. But as for their Apple “Care”, it sucks. Oh, did I mention the staff being excellent, they really were. Staff 5/5. Apple Care 1/5 Buyer beware…
Disappointed, frustrated and angry.
It appears the service at Apple in Chantry place has taken a downward spiral.
I was greet by an obnoxious man (Jasper) who was not at all helpful. I was then given a slot in a que and was told my wait time would be 1hour 30mins and I would revive a message.
Having waited 1hr 30 no text arrived, I then went back to the store to be told I’d need to wait a further 30mins. No apology just informed “they were being real with me”. I then asked to cancel the appointment as I could not waist any more time. As I walked away hearing the Apple assistant laughing.

I would like to say how outstanding Cas was to me today when I came to the Genius Bar about a faulty product. He went above and beyond to help me today and I am so greatful for his service. Previous to this I had had a rather poor encounter with a employee who was very rude and dismissive about my faulty apple product. I was apprehensive coming to the Apple store today but the friendly, welcoming and attentive service of Cas made my week so much brighter.
Thanks again to Cas for making a stressed student feel slightly more at ease – a warm and friendly service really does go along way.
