Absolutely disgusting. Bought a brand new 2023 MacBook Pro M3, and within 5 months it was black screen. Took it in for repair and thought nothing of it. Must be a manufacturing issue and a company with such expensive products and so much brand consciousness would gladly get it sorted with the most excellent customer service. Received contact from Apple a couple of days later saying it was water damage. I have had absolutely no liquids near it but the photos they sent me were quite damning. The only possible explanation is that something happened on their end.

I was given the run around and told it would cost me in excess of PS1,300 to fix (which is 3/5 the value of the brand new device). The treatment of Apple has been absolutely shocking and I’ve been given zero compensation for my time or damages that have happened in warranty (granted Apple have no official obligation to repair anything with water damage) even though I’m absolutely certain beyond reasonable doubt that I can’t possibly have caused such damage myself. I have no choice but to pay the quote stated by Apple and then hope that this won’t happen again, which fills me with anxiety now that I’ve completely lost trust in their products. I will never buy Apple products again. I didn’t for years, moved back to them after using other brands like Android and Windows since 2012, and have had nothing but issues and disgusting customer service treatment.

Lesson learned.

Absolute Scammers.

Took an iPhone 14 Pro Max in for a screen fault (in warranty) and they claimed it was Water Damaged. It’s never ever been in Water, not even in bathroom to be exposed to moisture.

Took the same phone to an after market repairer and he found that the connector from screen to actual phone had failed, was fixed for PS20 and took 15mins!

Apple Exeter wanted hundreds to repair under their lie of “Water Damage”, the technician in Apple was also no more than 18 at a push, was very rude and adamant that the phone couldn’t be repaired elsewhere.

Be very VERY careful, they may be Apple but they are scamming people.

I used to like this branch but not anymore. Went today for fixing my iphone i fund the guy on the Genus Bar arrogant , doesn’t want to listen and saying nonsense things. He told me that I am very rude cause I didn’t trust him and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager came he was totally bias rude and arrogant to his colleague. End of apple era. If apple continues to use such unprofessional people like this they will lose more customers.
