Genius Bar is a sleek and elegant looking place, making one feel they are walking into a special place. Here is the thing, customer service is customer serving. The human service should be amazing not the parade of people walking around with a tablet. I came 2weeks back and was asked to wait, I did and the guy wasn’t able to help me directly but referred me elsewhere. The place (westworld computers)had standoffish service with an appointment of one week set-up for any service. I fixed my Mac elsewhere and came back to genius to fix a minor problem, was asked to wait for 2hours. I asked for an appointment instead for the next day, which was today. I had an emergency and arrived 30min late. A guy named Singy (am not sure about the spelling) categorically asked me to rebook an appointment and the wait is 2hours. I was irritated that another guy came in and was attended to immediately but I didn’t project my feelings. I asked to be accommodated as this was my third time coming for the same minor issue ( I had the same issue before and they didn’t fix it).

While the place looks sleek and they want to portray diversity, the service is discriminatory at its best. The long wait is unmerited for especially for a working parent. As a person of colour am really disappointed in this particular store.

I needed a headphone and replace my Apple Watch but I decided to take my money elsewhere.

AND YOU DON’T REPRESENT THE ETHOS OF APPLE. It’s not about the gadgets, it’s about the people using them!

20 years on Apple/Mac FYI……….So I spent over 4 weeks of researching what I need, made 3 trips into the store, watched videos, read reviews and worked out what I needed for my budget. Pre-purchase, employees are generally uniformed and sometimes would out right lied about performance of different Mac’s or recommended products that didn’t fit my needs at all! I’ve purchased other items and had repairs done at this location going back to it’s opening, never had to deal with idiots, lies & poor customer service as I’ve experienced from June 3 – July 11th 2024 at Apple WEM.

After e-mail notification that my items are in I head to the store and wait 20 minutes at the “Pick-Up” desk, no one comes over at all! I didn’t schedule my pick-up WOW I’m Sooo dumb! No setup, no transfer no nothing just picking up paid product, hard stuff I know.

Finally a nice employee attend’s to my pick-up order, “do you need a bag? Why yes I do!” I drop 4.5K and I need to pay for a paper bag $0.25 that doesn’t fit all my items, the largest bag offered & my items don’t have handles and one of my items has been all ready used best I can tell!

If you pick-up/buy anything I’d recommend a large shopping bag or maybe a grocery cart or a pack-mule to carry your items through the mall and into the parking lot, thanks Apple WEM your the best at being the worst’s!

Stopped in at the Apple Store in west Edmonton mall to exchange and recycle an old phone. This was my first time using apples electronics recycling program and it was a very stemless process.

Though it took a minute to find someone who was free to help us, once we had a staff members help we were quickly guided through the process. They asked a few simple questions about the phones current condition and if it had a SIN card still in it. Once that was through, we signed a contract and that was it.

We looked around the rest of the store and there was lots of merchandise to check out.
