If I could give AU Computers zero stars, I absolutely would. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare.

I brought in my girlfriend’s laptop for a simple screen replacement. Let me stress that the laptop was in perfect working condition before I handed it over to them. After a few days, I received a call saying they couldn’t fix the screen and that I wouldn’t be charged for the inspection.

Upon returning home and attempting to use the laptop with an external monitor, I discovered that it wouldn’t boot up at all. This was a shocking turn of events considering it was working fine just days before.

After numerous attempts to reach them and get answers, I finally spoke to someone who claimed it was a motherboard issue and that it was already like that when it came in. But the truth is, their incompetence became glaringly obvious when I took the laptop to another specialist for motherboard repairs.

According to the second repair technician, AU Computers not only botched the screen repair but also failed to disconnect the internal batteries properly, causing irreparable damage to the main controller on the graphics card. As a result of their careless actions, the motherboard is now beyond salvageable.

This laptop wasn’t just any ordinary device–it was a PS2,500 gaming laptop, my partner’s first-ever gaming computer that she bought with her hard-earned money. She took immense pride in owning it and took great care of it.

Thanks to AU Computers, her first major accomplishment after moving to this country has been utterly ruined. Their negligence and incompetence have caused significant emotional and financial distress. I wouldn’t wish this kind of experience on anyone.

Avoid AU Computers at all costs.

Took my Macbook in on a Monday I had emailed before this, I have an issue with my hard drive that is physical and they claim to be Mac specialists so I gave them a shot. Was told there would be a charge of PS20 if there was no fix which was fine, The Website says about knowing the importance of our tech so says 3-4 days, Thursday and Friday passed, heard nothing even though they said they would call in a few days, Saturday came and went and still nothing so I contacted them the following Monday in case my number had been taken down wrong. My diagnosis was the one that I told them in the email and again in-store and both times told me they could swap the hard drive which I declined twice as I can do that and that isn’t what I asked for, I asked if the hard drive could be fixed. They charged me to do naff all, they put my macbook to one side and did nothing as it was how I left it when I gave it to them. Useless, Gave me nothing to say I handed my Macbook in which just seems dodgy so happy I got it back. They had taken my details down correctly except for the spelling of my last name even though I spelled that out there and then they just didn’t bother ringing so got charged for them to baby sit my Mac for a week, Thanks. There are much better people to go to. The guy on the phone when I rang was pleasant so that’s why this review isn’t explicit.

I had a problem with my laptop battery about 10 months ago and found AU computers through reviews on here. I took it in, and they fitted a new battery at a very good price. A few weeks ago, the battery stopped working and expanded in its case (through no fault of anyone’s, just one of those things that can happen). I took it back to them, they immediately said to leave it with them, that they would repair and replace it and that it was all under guarantee. I didn’t have to say anything. A few days later they phoned to say they had fixed it (as they had to send away for a new battery) and that it was ready to collect. I’ve just picked it up and it’s working perfectly.
