I picked up my computer from Best Buy yesterday after it was left there for repairs. When I went home, I could not access any of my documents without seeing messages that asked me to pay for a newer version of Microsoft. I expected that my computer would have been reset in the exact same way as it had been before the problems occurred. I had not authorized any installations of newer versions of anything.
Consequently, I returned to Best Buy today and explained my problem – I want all of my former programs back the way they were, all of my shortcuts returned to their rightful place, no slideshows on my screen before shutdown, AND most of all, I want to access my documents without paying.Thankfully a nice young man named Brandon Sanderson was able to help. Not only did he complete all of the tasks within 15 minutes, he walked me through all of the steps he was taking to restore my computer to its previous working condition. He took the time to answer all of my questions, to walk me through certain very helpful procedures, and he gave me hints on how to avoid storage overload. Brandon is very knowledgeable, very patient, and very personable. His interaction with me was a very pleasant one and I am truly appreciative of his assistance. I am now a very happy “tech challenged” customer who is once again able to use her computer without any unnecessary frustrations.

The Best Buy Brantford experience was extremely disappointing. It’s evident that their employees prioritize chit-chat over sales. We had to hunt someone down just to buy an Apple MacBook Air, and even then, the service was lackluster. The staff seemed disinterested in helping us or boosting store sales. We were seeking instant gratification, but Best Buy couldn’t deliver. When my wife tried to use a student discount, they demanded more recent proof than her 2019 student ID, which many universities don’t issue annually. In contrast, Apple’s website offered a better deal with a 10% discount and a $200 gift card, no questions asked about her student status. Why bother with Best Buy when Apple provides better service and savings? It’s clear that Best Buy’s employees prioritize “doing the right thing” over customer relations. They missed an easy sale on a high-ticket item, even on a weekday. Management should look at this and take a lesson, otherwise you can be the next business going under.
I recently had to purchase a new laptop. It was a mostly positive experience. Holland, the associate showed me different laptops in my price range, and helped me decide what would be best for me. She was great to work with.
I had them migrate my old laptop onto my new one, again the Geek Squad was great, and Ian especially was very helpful.
My only complaint which was incredibly frustrating, is I was unable to call the store directly. I was directed to a 1800 number and the website. The issue I had could only be handled by the store. There is absolutely no way to contact the store directly without physically going to the store. Otherwise, I would definitely go back to this store for another laptop or any other of my electronic needs.
