I brought a new phone on contract from Kamloops location. I forgot the name of person who helped me, I believe it was Mayank with glasses. He gave great genuine advice on what would be best for me. I was happy excited for new phone. But I changed mind and didn’t open box seal yet since I was still confused because new model was coming soon. I live in Coquitlam so went to Metrotown location for return.
I informed about returning phone and it’s not even open yet. First thing they asked me was, can I visit them next day. That was very weird question, why would I go back again for returning. I said sorry J cannot come tomorrow because.y working hours and store hours are same. Before even trying anything she said, oh it was bought from different location you would have to go back to the same location for returning. I told them I got from Kamloops and you want to drive 8 hrs and spend money on gas to return phone. Other associate had to jump in and suggested to at least try and see if it allows. Then finally she tried to return and the. She was like sorry I am unable to pull up the contract number so she won’t be able able help me. I also offered her I can call Kamloops store and get contract number. But still asked me to go to Kamloops. Next day I called customer service they said I can return to any best buy. I asked them to transfer my call to store and wanted to check with them about my options and surprisingly they said the same about being able to return to any location.
I didn’t want to waste any time going back and forth, I decided to drive all the way back to the same store and get over with it. I explained them whole situation, they were very apologetic about the inconvenience. I believe it was Lucas (lead) started the return process and was unable to pull up the contract number. All he did was to contact Bell and got contract number and process the return. All he did was to make effort to call Bell and see what was the issue. Fixed it on spot. If Metro town would have done the same thing I would had saved time and energy and stress. But at the end Lucas made sure it’s solved and I leave with positive experience.
