I tried to return a brand new, never opened camera within a week. A lady in the customer service proceeds to open the box in front of me (what?!) and tells me there will be a restocking fee.

I showed her Best Buy’s return policy on my phone to show that’s not the case and she’s the one who opened the box. It was brand new and I never opened the box.

Another employee steps in and tells me I’m wrong but act like they’re doing me a favour. They way they talked to me caught the attention of other shoppers in line and I’ve never felt embarrassed like that in public.

I then realized there’s no reason for me to shop at Best Buy anymore when there are other electronic stores within the same mall like Kerrisdale Camera or London Drugs.

Never again.

Avoid shopping at Best Buy Coquitlam.
Recently bought multiple appliances, including an LG Gas Range, based on a recommendation from sales representative Ramneek. Opted for a protection plan, but the LG Gas Range started rusting shortly after one month.
Customer service was unhelpful, claiming no record of my protection plan and denying coverage for the rusting issue. sales representative provided no support despite multiple attempts to contact.
Disappointed by the limited return policy and lack of support given the investment made. I am feeling cheated here, I should have bought my appliances from Costco or Home Depot as they offer a more generous 90-day return window.
