We purchased an extended warranty through Best Buy for our fridge on Oct 30/2021 for 5 years On April 19/2024 I called Best Buy to make a warranty claim that my fridge was not cooling correctly. Since then we have had 7 service calls by 2 different companies. The control panel has been replaced twice. As of June 27/2024 we still do not have a functioning fridge and are waiting 3-5 business days for Best Buy to contact us. Due to our fridge running to warm for the past 2.5 months we have black mold growing through out the seals of the doors and on the doors Best Buy was informed of this on June 14/2024. This has now become a health hazard to my family including 3 young children.
The store associates at both the Orangeville and Waterloo best buy’s tried to be helpful. Unfortunately the extended warranties are handled by head office, who filter all there calls through one phone number. Every call made results in a 3-5 business days wait for a response.
We waited well over an hour to talk to someone about buying an iPhone 15. We knew exactly what we wanted. Meanwhile, plenty of employees were wandering around with nothing to do. After finally talking to a salesperson, he announced it would take another 45 minutes to set up the phone. He never set it up but just gave a sales pitch trying to sell stuff we didn’t want. He did NOT set up the phone. We would have to line up at the Geek Squad where there was another long line up to have them set it up for an additional fee. After more than 2 hours and spending well over a $1,000, we left with the phone still in the box and not usable. We could just have taken it off the shelf and paid for it. What a waste of our time. When we got home we needed an adapter to be able to charge the phone which we did not have. What a useless waste of time this experience at Best Buy has been. Next time we’ll go elsewhere for our phones.
5 separate people couldn’t help me find it, apparently the associates in the TV section weren’t available, no where to be found.
3 associates helping a couple buy an apple watch, seriously?
This store has state of the art ESL (Electronic Shelf Label) a few keystrokes by someone competent should be able to find anything.
Incompetent, inept, not trained I don’t know but with online options as good as they are, Brick and mortar staff need to do much better IMHO.
After 20 min of walking up and down the isles I found my item and bought it, but I also ordered it online from amazon, as soon as Amazon delivers, Best Buy is getting there unit back, they did nothing to earn that sale.
for what it’s worth, staff were very friendly and polite just useless.
