Poor customer service and lack of communication skills. Even one star is too generous for this 1800 The Queensway location. This place looks dead as I rarely see any customers, and the reps are always just chilling out and doing nothing.

I bought an external battery for my iPhone 12 after failing with two previous purchases at the same store. As I wasn’t satisfied with the performance of the battery, I brought it in for a return within two weeks, as the store has a 14-day return policy. Previously, I purchased other products and had to return them and purchase this one because the sales rep wasn’t informative and was incompetent in advising the right product. I was afraid this product would have the same issue, so I clearly asked whether I could return it, and the sales rep assured me that I could at that time.

However, I learned today that I apparently cannot return the item anymore because the box is opened. When I spoke to the store manager, Chris, he asked me who the rep was and said he doesn’t “babysit” his sales reps as I pointed out that I had made several visits due to poor advice from his sales reps. While we were having the conversation, three other reps surrounded me, making me feel intimidated. Chris kept saying there was nothing they could do and that they needed to close the store.

The store manager, Chris, lacked professionalism and empathy for the customer. Honestly, I am surprised he has this role. I am also surprised this 1800 The Queensway location is still running (I cannot speak about the other location as I haven’t visited) since I have been the only customer the last few times I visited. I will never visit this store again and will go back to bigger retail stores such as Best Buy, which offers better customer service and competitive return policy.

My first time at this location and I definitely wasn’t expecting it to feel so run down. Considering it’s right across the street from Sherway Gardens, I thought I would be shipping at a flagship store that has all the bells and whistles. Instead, I got a place that doesn’t know what to do with all the square footage they have. The whole back area is just open storage. There’s way too much open space on shelves and there are too many empty end caps/displayers.

In addition, since they have so much space, they should put more items on display so customers can actually see and touch things. For example, I am in the market for a new build and am undecided on the case. I would have loved to see each case on display. They definitely have the room to do this. As contrast, the Markham location feels much more put together than this location. The Barrie location, which is much smaller might I add, has a bunch of awesome computer stations set up with Logitech steering wheels so you can test out car games + everything is for sale at these stations. Keyboards, monitors, mouse, etc. I get to test certain items before buying. I just love it.

I just feel like the Sherway location can use a face-lift and make better use of their space.

I bought a refurbished laptop from here 2 days ago didn’t work straight out of the box (screen went purple) they guy who sold it to me said I can return it without any issues but failed to mention the cardboard box was vital to return it. I came back with the box and they said they can’t take it back because “they can’t resell this”(the box was a bit damaged from me flattening it to put it in my recycing) I told them who are you are reselling this to? No answer obviously.. they ended up giving me a replacement which so far works but overall they were extremely rude and gave me all types of attitude I’m kind of shocked that a basic box is worth 500$ and keep in mind they want to resell a defective computer!
