I went into CEX today and was spoken to rudely by the tester. The salesperson who initially served us was lovely. We put an item in for testing and were given a quote of 40 minutes. We returned 50 minutes later to allow more time, but we were told that the person testing the item had gone on break and the phone hadn’t even been tested. The sales associate asked us to come back in 15 minutes.

We left and came back, only to be told again that it still hadn’t been tested and were asked to wait another 15 to 20 minutes. We mentioned that we were originally told 40 minutes, but the tester tried to claim we were lying and insisted he had said an hour and a half. He hadn’t–my partner, the sales associate, and I all heard 40 minutes. I pointed out that we had been in and out for well over an hour. He then snapped and said, “Well, you can take your item back.”

We decided to leave again and return later. When we arrived back the fourth time, a sales associate tried to sort the item for sale and asked if it was a phone. The tester, who I believe was a manager or part of the management, belittled him by saying, “Well, that’s what it says on the receipt.” This person was rude, and you could tell there is possibly a toxic work environment.

I’m proper disappointed. I love this place and I just had a terrible experience here. I’m 20 years old granted I didn’t take my ID however it’s very inconsistent since I have brought so many 18+ games with no fuss from here. A new guy has started and he was so rude initially when I tried to pay and he asked me for id I said sorry I didn’t bring it then he slid the games back to me with such attitude expecting me to put them back like I work for cex and its my job then I brought my dad later to pay for me cuz he was in kings heath, btw hes 58 and even then the workers was equally as rude to me and my dad. He wouldn’t let me pay in the first place when I took my dad and then he wanted to ID my dad who’s 58?!?! If he’s new you really need to check who your hiring because the attitude he gave, he couldn’t even give the games aswell couldn’t even have the class to hand me the games and gave them too my dad. Very inconsistent with the ID checks and made me feel very small considering I’m 20 YEARS OLD and have never had this issue before.

Absolutely love CeX Kings Heath I called in the other day as my previous phone died a sad death completely shattered screen the staff were extremely helpful and to say I walked out with a beaming smile is an understatement..talk about BARGAIN! I got my NEW never used Galaxy A21s still in the box (pictured) for just PS125 and a 126 gb memory card for just PS12 all in all it was well worth the visit
