I took a couple of old gaming steering wheels there today for any store credit, I just wanted rid of them. I’ve been a member of that shop since about a month after it opened which was 9 or 10 years ago…but today my postcode, my online membership, my very existence was denied by the assistant. Took them somewhere else instead. Here is a word of warning for you when you take something into CeX for cash or voucher: The fist assistant will look, evaluate and query you for a price. If you do not check their website for the going price, and do not quote that as your asking price, they will offer you less than they say they will on the site. If you DO quote the price they have for it, but DON’T mention or quote the website, they will offer less again…or you might get lucky and they become affirmative. But that’s not the bad bit. The bad bit is when you go back after they’ve made positive noises about your price and taken the stuff from you for testing … You go back and another kid appears from the back room apologising for their earlier mistake, it’s worth LESS than the price again because…and they will quote some bogus shortcoming on the device that doesn’t meet the price threshold, but they can still offer you X for it. (Ask for it back, take it elsewhere). I experienced this scenario twice, and one variant of it in the 9 years I’ve been going there. Things don’t happen like that. So today, after being completely blanked there, I just had enough. Won’t be going back there again.

The staff member I spoke to was friendly. I wasn’t asking for info so don’t know how knowledgable they are. The store seemed fine and prices seemed ok. Difficult to say really as the PS4 games I bought were really old and so as cheap as would be expected. Wasn’t looking at the other items on offer.

I didn’t personally like the dim interior or layout but there was nothing wrong with it – I just prefer more brightly lit stores.

I’d shop there again if I was in the area and looking for games.

Absolutely shocking, husband went in yesterday Apple Watch Series 6 valued at PS79 return today with the charger and they gave me PS54 tried to explain the case with the guy behind the counter but wasn’t having any of it. Didn’t want anymore confrontation so I just took the PS54. Husband has proof on his phone of the price. SHOCKING. He said it was down the individual and was not nice at all.
