I recently visited this store to purchase a second-hand PS5 controller knowing they are very picky when trading items in so I may find one almost brand new or unused. Well… the experience was abysmal. The controller was priced the same as a brand new one, yet it was worn out, marked, had greasy thumbsticks, and came without a box. The excuse I kept getting when asking for a reasoning behind to obscure pricing and the justification of the dirty overpriced product was “head office mate”.

The staff were unkempt, with greasy hair and dirty nails, and the entire shop reeked of body odour. To make matters worse, the service was poor. The staff gave blunt, arrogant answers to my questions. Overall poor service, shocking pricing, and unpleasant environment – avoid this shop.

Took my trade in item, sold it at cash converters for more and got a new controller elsewhere.

EDIT/UPDATE “The dude with the beard was very helpful” I only popped in on the off chance they’d have a movie in that if been looking for for ages, and wadyaknow, they had it in stock, bonus. There were plenty of staff in the shop & it’s exceptionally well stocked too with everything from DVDs to drones. Full marks indeed. Upon my second visit in September, I popped by just for a nosey & found a HD card I’d needed for quite some time. The only strange thing regarding CeX is the staff are not allowed to give out their names, as I’d asked him for it so I could mention him in my review. I’m afraid “dude with a beard” is the best I can offer.

They’ve really gone downhill lately, PS60 to buy a used PS5 controller, the same price as a brand new one in Argos. They were PS45 and then the price went up to PS60 overnight, when prices elsewhere were going down. I wanted to sell FC24 game for PS5. They sell it for PS30, but only offer you PS8 cash. They used to be the best shop for buying and selling in Blackpool. Now they’re the worst. I wouldn’t bother even going in again.
