Terrible service, brought in a desktop PC and was told it would take a week as they need to take it apart and test each component separately, asked for all my usual details and asked to be done as voucher with not return to store necessary, no contact for a week, came back in a week and was told it was not even tested as the tower had a sticker with windows vista on it, confirmed again as I did the first time that it was windows 10 pro licensed, they said sorry and we would test again, ready in 24hrs, saying they never take them apart and never test components, came back the next day and they quoted 1/4 of the price, saying the PC has 4Gb ram, pushed them to confirm this and reluctantly they did only to come back and say that it’s reporting 16Gb, said they need a full retest, ok, it’s now a week since and no call and no voucher. Maybe they have good stock selection but if you want to add your own to it, maybe go somewhere else but if so go here, check your quotes and all details. Very subpar service.

Bad service. We walked all the way to the Tooting Broadway store, carrying a heavy desktop computer, only for the manager to refuse the trade-in, claiming they had no space. Later, we visited the Clapham Junction store (without the computer, as it was too heavy to risk another wasted trip), where the staff informed us that Cex stores should not reject items listed on their website as items they can buy from people. They also mentioned that the Tooting Broadway manager should have at least offered us the option to submit a Drop and Go order. Instead, due to the manager’s incompetence ( Tooting Broadway), we ended up walking back and forth between different Cex locations with a heavy computer, wasting our time and effort.

Sold an old Kindle Fire this morning for a voucher to use towards the purchase of an iPad 10 which fortunately they had one in stock along with the pen.

It was in my interest to make the purchase online so I could have the 2 weeks return policy as opposed to 2 days for an in-store purchase.

There is a fair amount of waiting around as details are checked and logged, but it seemed all very reasonable to me and they were transparent about procedures.

I picked up my purchase in the evening without any trouble once I received the confirmation email within an hour or so. It would have been good had they told me the passcode to the iPad but it was a bad generic one easily worked out.
