I have just been into the Newark branch of Cex to return a cpu that I purchased yesterday from another branch as when I got it home I found that it was dead. However when trying to return the item for a full refund within 24 hours and I was met with a barrage of questions about what’s wrong with the item. I was then told it needed to be ‘tested’ to ascertain if I was telling the truth. I had no option but to leave the cpu with the store along with my original proof of purchase! I was told I need to come back in a ‘couple of hours’ to see if they could verify that I had been telling the truth and the cpu is indeed dead. Surely if Cex had the means to test such items this should be done before selling them and my statutory right is to a full refund for the rubbish you seem to be selling! Unfortunately I also took this opportunity to purchase an xbox game while in store and came home with an empty box! The incompetent store worker didn’t even put the disc in the box! What on earth is going on with your business???!! Shocking! I want a refund and compensated for the petrol money for the endless trips to your store!!

Walked across town today to pick up Spiderman 2 (ps5) only to find its one of these rubbish reprinted covers, yet you still charge the same price despite it having no future resale value, should be half the price, you should at least state online if the in store item is reprinted or not rather than waste people’s time

Furthermore CEX’s prices have climbed to the point where its not worth going in anymore, only a few quid difference from some brand new items elsewhere !

I would just like to say how amazing Nathan at the Newark branch is. He helped me out so much. I had bought a phone from the Scarborough branch only a few days before, but it had already turned out to be faulty, and crashed on me. Nathan sorted me a replacement out and transferred everything over for me, while I went off and did my shopping. He was so polite and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. A real credit to Cex.
