Visited to sell old laptop, staff were friendly, Contact details given and advised about an hour for checks, hour and a half later having received no call I went back and was given the valuation which I accepted as cash, advised not enough cash available at time and to return in thirty minutes, returned and advised still not enough cash and if I’d accept bank transfer which I did. Overall, valuation ok however communication was not great on account of not being informed the valuation was complete and waiting thirty minutes extra for essentially no reason given that I would have accepted a bank transfer had it been offered initially.

Popped in 10 mins before closure to get some Wii games (had a list so wouldn’t have been long). Was told the upper floor of the shop has been locked up and couldn’t be reopened.

Staff generally disinterested in attitude and weren’t willing to help. Had travelled distance to get to store. Time and effort wasted.

Edit (1 year later):
So thought I would give the store a second chance. Returned a year later to check out the stores Blu Rays. Discovered they had been moved upstairs with absolutely no lift for disabled access to the 1st floor. So couldn’t even look at what they had in stock.

Worst CEX store in the country.

Well, usually it is a reasonable experience. However, on my last visit to the Eastbourne branch a small young girl decided that she needed to be rather disrespectful, blunt and rude to my son and I. That said when we returned an hour later she was quite different in her approach. It’s obvious that management overheard her initial discourse with us and corrected her before our return. All you need is one unpleasant experience with a business to put you off ever going there again. I am considering returning to do business with them at some point………possibly!
