CEX Store Woolwich: have used the store several times to buy and sell items. The most recent experience was poor and leaves me questioning my use of CEX going forward.

On Sunday I dropped off 5 items for testing and informed that I would either receive an email with my voucher or a call informing me of material changes to the quotes. Understandable and reasonable.

After no calls for two days (including from withheld numbers) I went to the store to request an update. The rejected items were clearly visible on a shelf and it wasn’t clear anything was being done with them. Was then informed that there was no scrap value (questionable) for two working phones since the battery had apparently depleted below 80%. Begs the question how many phones more than two years old pass this check… also begs the question about the sustainability claims of the site if old phones are very likely being rejected on the regular if this “policy” is to be believed. Why this isn’t a warning upfront is beyond me in an effort to avoid time wasted on both sides and weakened public perception is also a wonder. Next came a rejection to a pair of working headphones. They couldn’t explain why they were rejected despite being it working condition and in reasonable condition. Lastly, and most tellingly to processes, they rejected a Google home mini and gave me someone else’s Amazon plug and a new cable (something I only realised as of writing this review). I have never purchased an Amazon device so I am certain this is not mine, nor the new cable.

Overall an utter waste of time and completely unsatisfactory.

Dark hair girl handling my goods like there was muck all over them, told to bring items then don’t take them, looking down her nose see her outside I be having a word with her , she was touching like we had germs ! I have ocd and she looks like she good do with a good hair wash… disgusting service.. only reason I didn’t loose it as just gone through a loss and ready to explode ! She need customer service training hardly spoke and kept looking at her hands.. ps u lot she good her to have a wash !! Treat me like I’m scum !

It’s a good store. Has everything that you need ranging from dvds to electronic equipment such as mobile phones, etc.

However, my main issue is that when you go to sell something, they offer the lowest price to the seller. I’m not exactly impressed with that, especially when it comes to selling the items in question, the prices are higher than what they give you.

Overall, it is a good store if you are looking to buy something.
