DON’T BELIEVE THE ADVERTS ON TV! As someone else stated in a previous review biggest con merchants! (Along with Halfrauds)
Avoid bunch of fraudsters, disrespectful, discirimating con artists who don’t care about customers as long as the employees get paid at the end of the day. It is a huge scam! They will happily sell you everything in shop which is in bad condition. That’s the trick of the 2 year warranty because nothing they sell ever works for longer than 3 years. But will not let you trade in anything that’s even brand new! Went to trade in a brand new phone (Xiaomi) with box and charger basically in mint condition, they turned me down as they said there was a fault with it. How can that be the case when it came brand new and only been through light use for less than a month. Basically no signs of phone being thrown at a brick wall. And had the cheek to say it might be a grade C. It was in an grade A condition!
Oh did I mention they did not return my charger and box which I tried to supply for the next customer! (*Update* they did return my box and charger)
They sell everything for highest price they can and will buy of you at lowest price possible!
Even when I was waiting in queue I overheard a group was selling some expensive item and because they offered so little for it they couldn’t believe it and took elsewhere!! And staff was laughing at them like they were the mugs.
Please people don’t buy from here save your money and your time buy from shops that sell products brand new with good customer service who actually care and respect their customers. I honestly dont know how this company is still in business. (Probably from all the poor customers they rip off) I’ve had nothing but problems with ‘CEX’ ever since I got my first PS3 from here when I was little. Another separate issue but this was the other Nottingham store they nearly turned me down a few months back and get this…. they said they don’t ‘accept’ a iPod 3rd generation that was basically in really great condition. Like really???? A tech retail store that turns down tech?? (They would eventually test and quote me a price) When they clearly state on website, stores & ads ‘Buy, *Sell*, Exchange ect.. Dodgy employees acting dodgy and dodgy customers trying to sell dodgy item’s, if I could sum up Cex in a sentence.
This was the last straw that made me leave a 1 star review, I have honestly had enough of this disrespectful company and it’s workers and in writing this review I hope *YOU* take time to consider is *YOUR* time, effort, item’s and money worth it.

I went to this store in March 2024 in order to get some GameBoy games traded-in for cash. The store closes around 6pm, and I got there at 5:20ish. There was a long queue at the time, and when it was my turn to be served, I was informed by the staff that the trade-in could not happen as there was not enough time to test the games (as they are GameBoy they need to be tested). I began to leave and another member of staff was very accommodating and said they could squeeze me in. They tested the games when the store emptied out slightly. I would have happily gone back the next day, however the staff were very accommodating and even let me make a last-minute purchase.
Thank you Sophie, Louisa, Shannon, Megan, Hazard & Dave for the good experience yesterday. You went above and beyond right down to the last second of the working day, and made me feel like I wasn’t a burden even though I was the last customer.
today had experience with not competent it guy who can’t even make ps3work wich one is correctly works, i checked this morning my ps3 worked came to sell it. he says is not working. I’m coming back home put it in and its works perfectly, this it guy shouldn’t be working there because he can’t even figure simple things how to plug ps3 correctly
