I went in 27/05/24 Monday around 1.30pm to trade in some games and they said they would have to do a bulk buy order as I have a history of selling multiple games at cex. I was fine with that and I asked for the store policy in place as I have never been told that selling at cex. When they showed me the store policy, it was an employee guide on Notion. It seemed like bulk sell orders mostly applied to consoles and phones rather than games.

I was speaking to the gentleman who had been serving me and the lady who had been listening on the side seemed hostile. She was blonde and had glasses. When she heard me ask to bring up the store policy she said I could go cash converters if I didn’t like the price, who will be accepting less than what cex would buy for. I felt that was uncalled for. I was talking to the gentleman who was serving me, I don’t see why it was her place to start speaking with a condescending tone as I wasn’t talking to her.

Customer service mediocre could be much better given the nature of the store. They don’t even approach to assist, and even when you ask them for assistance (too much for them, they’d rather just point to where to go and even when you can’t find the game your after, they still ignore). If you don’t wont to sell games or do your job correctly why stay in operation and hold a spot? On top of that, they sell games (that don’t even work) what a joke, what a waste of time having to go back in to return ONLY to be given a replacement game that (doesn’t work). Trading in games they’re a ‘complete rip off’. Better of going to EB Games & JBHifi pay around the same if not slightly more and you’ll get quality game that actually works. Never again. Steer as fast as you can and save yourself both the time and $. If I could have given a ‘zero star’ I would have.

I bought a second-hand iPhone 12 at CeX Hurstville. The speaker didn’t work, so I exchanged it for a second-hand iPhone 12 Pro Max with extra money. The new phone had the same issue. What bad quality! They admitted the defect but refused the warranty, blaming a crack that was already there. Very disappointed with the quality and service. Please consider carefully before buying a product here.
