I left a laptop for check on 07 July 2024. The girls at the counter asked me to leave it overnight as it takes them 2 hours to check a laptop. On 08 July, I was told that the battery is missing and so the laptop cannot be put on. The girls said that the laptop has been ‘tampered’ with. Perhaps they don’t understand the meaning of tampering. Is using or opening your own laptop called tampering?
That was so gross. It was my wife’s laptop. She used it till last weekend, and I used it on 06 July to clear all existing data from it and format it.
The battery ‘disappeared’ overnight from the laptop? Wow! Well done, Cex staff. It was my mistake to have left the laptop with you overnight, with all my trust. I had to give it to Office Supplies for recycling.
Very bad experience. I advise everyone dealing with them to be extremely careful.

Bought a secondhand Wii console from CeX Helensvale. It was given to us unboxed in a paper bag, which broke before we even got to the car, causing the console to fall and crack. When we returned to the store, the manager told us it was our fault and refused to help. My son spent his savings and sold his game collection for this console, only to end up with a broken one due to their faulty bag. Extremely disappointed with the lack of support and service.
They have moved to PayID and don’t do trade in for cash any more. They are discriminating against people with a Disability. The people I support with a disability don’t have an online banking app. The fact there is no other way of transfering money is disgusting. We have been trading in with them for year and now we can no longer do it. I guess we are off to super retro or eddies retro now.
