I recently visited CeX in Altrincham to sell my PS4 Pro and Marshall headphones, totaling PS115. I opted for cash, but the employee, Marcus, informed me of a policy that any transaction over PS100 could only be processed through a bank transfer, which would take 48-72 hours. This was quite inconvenient, as I needed the money urgently.

Despite this setback, Marcus assured me multiple times that he would ensure the items were checked the same day, so I would receive the money in my bank account faster. Unfortunately, these promises were empty. The items were not checked promptly, and the process was significantly delayed. Additionally, Marcus provided no updates or support, leaving me frustrated and disappointed.

Overall, my experience with Marcus and CeX was very disappointing. The lack of efficient service and broken promises have ensured that I will think twice before returning to this store. If you are considering selling valuable items here, be prepared for delays and poor communication.

I went here at the weekend to sell an old MacBook and was in and out in 15 minutes! I hadn’t used CEX in 10 years but they signed me up with a new account, inspected my product and I left with them for testing. No ‘tyre kicking’ or haggling etc. They rang me the same day to confirm that my product had passed all tests and the money was in my account the next day.

The systems, processes that they now have in place are excellent, but their best asset is their staff. Special mention to Jamie who I dealt with who was new (I wouldn’t have known unless he told me) but all their staff were friendly with expert knowledge.

Will definitely be using CEX Altrincham again!

Very good service at altrincham today they were fast professional they took and tested several items for me some high value some only a few pounds.
Even when they couldn’t take an item because I was missing some parts that came with it they did so in a professional way.
I’m a high level retail manager myself and I would hire the 2 guys who helped me today in a heartbeat
