DO NOT SELL HERE!!! They scam you. I took in my iPhone 8 to get a price. I was told that if I fixed the back of the phone (as it was smashed), they would buy my phone for PS119. I went and got this fixed which cost me PS30 which I thought was worth it. I then when back into Cex and was told I needed the lens fixed and then they would buy it for PS93. So I went and got the lens fixed, which cost me PS10 which again I thought was worth it. I then went back into Cex with the phone now having a new back and lens, but they told me there were other problems with it that meant they would only pay PS32 for the phone. I just wanted to be done with all the going backwards and forwards of getting it fixed and just took the PS32. I then went into the store again 2 days later, just out of curiosity and found my phone being sold for PS200!!!! They completely scammed me!!! I should have just sold it online, I wouldn’t got a lot more than PS32 for it.

I recently brought a laptop in store to sell and after the whole process of them testing the laptop to ensure the laptop is in full working order, I was offered a price under the condition I would replace the battery, which I did.

Upon returning to the shop to hand the laptop in with the new battery, I was then informed there was a crack on the laptop so they couldn’t accept it. Considering the crack (albeit very small) only affected the housing outside of one of the USB ports, which they tested and confirmed works! They still couldn’t accept it. Not to mention the crack could have occurred during testing..

Don’t sell here, just sell privately, the experience will be less painful and you won’t be told to spend money to replace parts to then not be offered anything in return. Photo of crack attached for reference.

Been back and forth with the same items. They don’t check them properly and clearly sell some faulty, honestly need to go back again as this phone is the same as the last but just feels awkward as in there eyes theres nothing wrong when there really is. (UPDATE) been to york today lovely customer service made sure i was happy sorted my problem and did what harrogate failed to do and gave me the correct items and checked everything. Also polite and actually let me look at the phone myself and go out of there way to make sure me as a customer is happy. I advise you all to definitely go to york over Harrogate they have even said themselves they have had alot of items faulty from Harrogate brought back to them in york and the items should have never been that grade or passed. Please be aware and go to york if you can!
