Awful store with awful, untrained staff. I bought a game from the ceX located in Stockport. I came back the next day to return it. The woman at the desk (purple hair) completely clueless told me that I can have a refund. That was great. She asked me If I had the card I paid with, which I did have. She said that she can’t complete the refund until I set up a membership. I was in a rush but I agreed, only for her to tell me that she can give me a voucher, not an actual refund. Then she says that it states that they don’t do refunds on my receipt in the finest writing. Am I being ridiculous or how are people meant to know if no one tells them about it. What if they change their mind in store ? If people only get this info on the receipt and not from the actual employee, its too late after they paid… What the hell is wrong with this company ? If this is some sort of new technique to get customers to start memberships then it’s a ridiculous one. Its the worst customer service I’ve had in a long time. No one was helpful. I would suggest further training and maybe telling your staff to not lie to customers. I’ll post the same review in other places. I’m sick of employees being untrained and not knowing how to do their job.
Went in to sell a few items to be fair the first staff member i encountered was friendly and chatty , i was informed that the games console was to be tested and this has to be booked in (took about 45 mins for completion) when i returned i was told the controller would not connect so they refused to buy the whole thing , i pointed out to the somewhat miserable staff member that it works and needed a charge she did not care , i asked if I charged it in The car and brought back was that ok she turned her back and said it would have to be rebooked in so i left the store and went to cash converters just a two minute walk away they saw everything was fine and matched the offer cex gave me and were very chatty and friendly … morale of the story cex bad
Don’t bother with buying items because of a 24 month warranty because they won’t honour it. My Chromebook burnt whilst charging and damaged 2 of my chargers but they say they can see damage on the charging ports (which after they burnt it would be more than expected) and therefore not covered. Item “assessed” by people not even close of being qualified of doing such assessments. Used them quite a bit in the past but it seems it is not profitable for them to honour their warranties.
