CONSUMERS BEWARE. Please do not use this IT firm. I have used this sole trader for years but something has happened that it becomes all about the money and not the customer service!

He sold me a new laptop for PS650 in February 2022 but since last year I have had an ongoing issue with the laptop not being able to perform Windows K (muulticasting onto a TV)

He actually said he did not know what windows K did, well that is a surprise when he works with Windos and the first thing he should have done when the problems started was rebuild the laptop which he did not do until this year at the beginning of February as he spent a whole nearly 12 months basically fobbing me off trying to tweak windows.

We then only finally got it right actually on the 3rd build as the 2nd build he dumped on the laptop was not up to much either as it had an issue with the audio drivers. He had me on the phone in the evening until 9.15pm trying to get the audio drivers to work when it was the dodgy cloned images he was using in the first place!

This sole trader totally wasted my time as I was supporting a friend who lives in Guildford (whom the laptop was for) and this involved me going down to Guildford, using my petrol and my time when the 2nd build was not up to anything either!

It was only on the 3rd build that he finally got it right but he did not check back with me to check it was working fine. After all that he has put me through you would think he would want to know if it had worked, but no!. I was phoning him to let him know that it was successful but I could not get through but then checked with another friend on her mobile to confirm he had actually blocked me instead of asking me whether I was now happy. I then thought I would visit his shop 3 days after the 3rd build to let him know in person to tell him that it worked but he still turned me away saying he wasn’t open! Again lacking people skills, especially as he was actually standing in his office.

I now have a working laptop but to the detriment of time and money wasted on my part.

I would advise anyone wanting to use this shop to consider not using after my experience.

Addendum: he has now told me that I swore at him which is totally inaccurate and my review is 100% accurate, as this is exactly what happened. Take note how he has not even mentioned about having to put 3 builds on the laptop before he got it right! The reason for going in was he told me in an email I could not visit his premises which I am in my legal right to do so especially as he did not service me correctly. The builds from day one up until the 3rd build were totally not fit for purpose for the laptop.

Instead of assisting an unhappy customer for over a year he decided to block me. Please note he has not mentioned at all about his childiish playground behaviour of blocking me as well!. All he needed to do was check I was happy.. He should have done the new build from Day 1 when something that we needed the laptop to do just did not work and he wasted SO much of my time for over a year.

Alas, it is all about the money as if he really cared he would have done the build earlier instead of constantly trying to tweak windows unsuccessfully. Although he did the builds free of charge (which he should have done anyway if something was not working) but I’m guessing because he wasn’t being paid for it this is why he blocked me.!

I am certainly not taking my review down. I cannot be told to take a review down nor should a supposedly professional company be blocking a customer or telling them they can’t come into their shop. Alas he has bought this on himself by even considering blocking a customer. He should have checked back with me end of having mucked me around with poor builds for over a year and fobbing me off for such a long time.

I hope you will consider not using his services after all that I have been through.

My whole experience with Computer Surgery over the last couple of months since a neighbour recommended them to me has been brilliant, Nick Durant is very obliging and more than happy to give advice and a quick service, installing Windows 10 on laptop in a couple of hours, advice on a new Desktop more than helpful, on ordering desktop it was delivered and installed complete with software in two days. A pleasure to do business with. Highly recommend.

Nick at Computer Surgery has been great at sorting out our computer issues on our home desk top, laptop and I-pads used in the house. He has always managed to sort our issues out quickly and efficiently and at a very reasonable cost. Quite often he has sorted our issues remotely saving his and our time.
