When we called them, they said it sounded like “backlight issue”. If it’s backlight, it’s easy to fix. They also said they couldn’t say the price before checking the TV. Because it can be another issue. But if it’s backlight, it will be covered with initial price (PS110) otherwise it can be charged more. I wanted to make sure about the price because new 55″ LG TV is about PS450. If it’s more than PS110, buying a new TV would be better option I thought. So we called them several times to see the price range with the backlight issue. When I researched it, I could see the same issue as mine.
In the end I did the process with them because I believed it will be backlight and will be covered with PS110 as the guy advised me like that. However they said I have to pay PS193 more. Total price is PS303 for replacement backlight. Now they said this is not a simple thing. For the labor PS115 and the parts PS188.
And they claimed that the guy maybe just gave me an example. How could he gave me that example while he said backlight issue? So he guessed correct issue but didn’t know if it’s simple fix job or not? it’s almost 3 times price then he guessed.
So I called some repair stores to check the price to replace it, and they said it depends on the model but MAXIMUM price will be PS200 for 55″ Samsung TV. Also inspection fee is only about PS35. I had to check and compare this before doing this process with them. I shouldn’t have believed their website and google reviews.
Now I’m thinking this is all my fault. I was so idiot because I didn’t check and compare to others. But at least, I learnt something with PS110. Hope others could keep their PS110 or more. What’s different as scammers they are? Thank you for your amazing service.

Ok, imagine me and my husband just misunderstood what you were saying we checked several times (not only the first day, we called another day as well) and you were right. Then why did you told us the case which initial fee could cover the cost? You already guessed our case would be backlight issue. In the case replacement labour fee is already PS115. It means there is NO CASE to cover the total cost with initial fee. It must be over PS115 anyway because parts price will be added. We checked the price range with backlight issue. Because we believed it will be that issue since you mentioned it.
At least you can say it must be over PS110 because it’s not easy job and labour fee is PS115 already. Also you can say that parts fee will be added. Then we won’t even think it can be covered with initial fee. You and your colleague told me that checking YouTube how not easy that thing. How could I say if it’s easy or not by myself with my background knowledge and guess it must be expensive labour job?
Is labour fee for “backlight” big different like PS30-115? Can it be that cheap like PS30-50? And my TV’s parts price is especially expensive but other 55″ Samsung TV backlight can be PS50-60? Is there at least one case that could be less than PS110(initial fee) with 55″ Samsung TV? I’m asking this because your replying focused on “genuine Samsung parts”
I don’t care if other shops use genuine one or not. Because using genuine one or not is not my point to say. Whether they use non-Samsung part or not, they let us know it can be up to PS200 with replacement. But why can’t you say that we must pay more than PS110 even you always use more expensive Samsung part than others?
This is the point I am very disappointed. it makes me thinking this company tried to hide the case even it looks very obvious. When we asked the price range, you could easily advise us it must be over PS110.
I can’t praise Consumonics high enough. Their professionalism and skill set is only matched by their code of conduct and ethics which is something very rare.
First of all they have unmatched knowledge in their field. My (then) faulty TV was a very rare Panasonic AX900 model of ten years ago; they were the only engineers to have specific knowledge of this model.
Secondly, they will not accept payment from you unless they think that there is a good chance that the TV will be fixed. I offered them a one off payment to attempt to fix my TV, after having tried to play amateur engineer and fix the fault myself, but they wouldn’t take it, because “it wouldn’t be fair to me”, as they suspected (as did I) that I had irreversibly damaged the TV. They only accepted my offer to work on my TV, after a second conversation I had with them, assuring them that I hadn’t, in fact, damaged the panel at all. You just don’t find integrity like that.
Furthermore, on the issue of payment, I was so pleased with the result, that I offered them an extra top up payment to express my gratitude, but, again they didn’t accept it, and they were just pleased that I was happy with the result, and they were very content with the original agreed upon fee.
Talking about the fee a bit more, to come and collect two very large and heavy 65 inch TVs (an extra one to source parts), work on your tv for five days, and return them both on day six for PS160 all in, I find it incredible value.
You can also tell by the way their delivery man handles the TV, what care they put into their work. The way they wrap the tv, the way he was so careful to carry it, like carrying a Picasso painting, just says it all. By the way, I forgot the delivery man’s name, but he was a lovely person, extremely polite and helpful, from Ecuador if I am not mistaken. A very big thank you to him as well.
Thirdly they will not offer you any false hopes. They are very honest and upfront from the beginning about the nature of the repairs, particularly in my case, due to the age of TV and the well documented issues this particular TV has.
Finally, in terms of punctuality, they had advised working on my tv between 3 to 5 working days, and they delivered the tv to me on day 6. So perfect score there as well.
As I said at the outset, I can’t praise Consumonics high enough. Perfect service from great people.
I was also seen within 3 days. Report provided within 48hrs of the visit. Brilliant.
