This review isn’t completely about the staff but in Currys in general. Firstly the store looks awful as there’s no products in the phone holders, hardly any stock on the shelves etc.. I went in to buy a phone and trade in my old one. I can’t understand how Currys doesn’t have a service where they can transfer your old phone on to your new one and you can walk out with your new phone on the same day? I feel like phone shops like O2 do that pretty easily? You have to trade in your old phone, get a gift card, then leave without any phone (not your old one or your new one) and then use the gift card to order your new phone separately as they don’t stock iPhones in store apparently. Additionally when you go online and try the payment plan, there’s an option that says you wont be charged interest if you pay within 12 months however the APR is about 30% so I think thats quite misleading. The iPhone 15 is PS100 cheaper in Currys if you pay upfront however if you need to use a payment plan then Apple’s APR is 0% so overall it is cheaper at Apple so don’t be fooled. The staff did answer my questions but I just felt like they were quite rude… when I’d ask a question like ‘Does anywhere else have it in stock?’ He laughed at me then said no.. I can’t understand how we still have in-store shopping when it’s just so unhelpful.
I recently moved to the UK (from the US) and couldn’t figure out where to buy a couple electronic accessories I needed. Well, Currys was the answer! They had everything I have ever needed in term of electronic accessories and the staff was really nice. I was helped by David, who said he was one of the managers. Very enjoyable trip and I got everything I needed!
For other people from the US: this place sells what I would normally buy at Best Buy.

You can go in and get a product/commodity. If you know what you want and the price is right compared to online options it is worth buying. But it is a “cash & carry” place. Little service, it has a product at a price and that’s as much as you can reasonably expect.

Nothing wrong with it but not a place where there is product expertise and/ir high customer service.
