Appalling customer service on the returns counter at the Stockton branch. A lady called Patricia, couldn’t identify the other lady as there wasn’t a name badge. Staff need urgent training.

I returned an online order for a microwave that had some corrosion on the steel when I opened it.

After waiting ten minutes at the returns counter I was finally called over. During the wait I could see four members of staff just walking around in close proximity avoiding eye contact.

The first lady I dealt with on the returns counter said I could go and choose another microwave. I stated I just wanted the exact same one and just an exchange.

I awkwardly stood for a while and she said I would have to go and get it myself. I was dumfounded. I asked shouldn’t a member of staff (warehouse) go and get it (no idea where it would be etc). The lady replied all staff are busy. I could literally see staff doing nothing at the time, all in plain sight and so could she!

I eventually fetched the microwave and dealt with another lady called Patricia. She asked if I would like to see the manager after I complained about the poor customer service. I think she could sense my frustration. She then stated that her colleague had a disability in a tone that insinuated that I was beastly for presuming that a new replacement should be brought to the counter. I replied I didn’t ask her as I could see she was serving. I stated that I thought she would radio for one of the warehouse team to assist.

Patricia said all available staff were busy. I could see staff busy talking to other colleagues, checking their phones and skulking behind shop floor displays.

I had bought a laptop for work, downloaded zoom which basically is my business and an antivirus. Tried to complete a zoom call with a client and the laptop ran so slow I had to end the meeting. This happened continuously and I found that loading a Google page took 5 minutes. Took it back to Curry’s to be fixed. A member of staff plugged in a USB which tests hardware which as the screen, keyboard etc, nothing to do with the fans, no tests for the fault I described. I was then told that there was nothing wrong with the device. So I asked to speak to the manager. The manger informed me that there was nothing wrong with my laptop. I actually felt quite gaslighted especially when I was told its normal for a laptop to run slow after a bit (30 minutes). I said I need the laptop for work and that I do a 6hr day. The manager laughed and said no laptop runs quick after 6 hrs. He restated there was nothing wrong with it and refused to send it for repair. I said Curry’s would now loose my custom. He manager shrugged and badically said, dont use currys again then. I sought independent diagnostic analysis. Then sent the laptop to lenovo. The laptop was diagnosed as overheating which was a fault at manufacturing and they replaced the faulty fan and something to do with a thermal paste.i lost custom and felt gaslighted and humiliated

When I went to your company to buy a color printer today, I asked your employees whether the newly purchased printer would contain ink? Your company’s employees explained that they don’t have it and that they need to purchase additional items. I ended up buying a set with colored and black inks, but when I got home I found that the new product already came with a set of inks. I don’t mind buying an extra set of inks for replacement, but your employees did this. After this experience I will not be returning. The employee who helped me is named Daran.
