match is to get people I to the shop, but even then I dont think they care. So be warned, they will only price match at what seems like personal and random discretion. Probably not worth the trip, just buy it online. Maybe I just got an inexperienced sales person, but from seeing other reviews of the Ipswich store, I’m thinking this might be the culture here, or perhaps across all of Currys.
We went there with the plan of going in, purchasing a laptop for one of our clients, paying, and then swiftly leaving. This was not exactly what happened then.
When we entered and looked around for a laptop, once we found the one we wanted, we were told by a member of staff that she has placed us in a queue for us to be ‘served’. We waited almost 45 MINUTES for someone to come over and see us, what a shambles! Meanwhile there were 8-10 staff who were on the shop floor just standing and talking amongst themselves like they were in an episode of Big Brother. We were told that only TWO staff can serve at any given time, meaning they are paying staff in the shop for sitting around doing nish, not making moves.
We even had two customers come to us as we were waiting asking if we were working there, and we had to explain we weren’t which was hilarious.
When we finally got served, it turns out they didn’t have stock of the laptop we wanted initially. You could count on one hand the amount of stock that they actually had.
Eventually we had to settle for one that we had at the desired price range, then we checked out. In total we were in there for over an hour, which is simply just a joke.
My gripe is not so much with the staff on the shop floor, it is with Currys and their culture and structure. How can you only have TWO servers in a shop of that size, the whole process needs to be revamped as they will continue to lose customers as people did leave when we were there due to not being served.
One word for this review; WAHALA.
