Went into the wigan store to return a charging dock I had purchased yesterday with my receipt, still in box and brand new, barely used for an hour. The man who was serving me, ”36 Marcus” told me straight away: ‘No you cant return a product after you’ve opened it’ which was factually incorrect as per Curry’s own return policy and The Consumer Contracts Regulations. His tone was very confrontational, rude and came across rather racist with his raised voice. I’ve never been spoken to like this by a customer assistant. He didn’t have any customer service skills whatsoever and is clearly in the wrong profession as he does not know Curry’s own return policy.

He needs urgent training on how to speak to and serve customers of all backgrounds and show some respect, as he should be the one serving me, not the other way round. I am a core customer of Curry’s and essentially pay for this guy to keep his minimum wage job. He needs to be educated on the laws and regulations behind returns as he was breaking them and could have got Curry’s a hefty lawsuit. I don’t usually leave reviews but I was so annoyed at the way he spoke to me as if he was superior and I was doing something wrong. I think he should quite frankly lose his job over this incident. He didn’t say thanks, he didn’t even say bye or see you later. I wouldn’t be going back to the wigan store again. Well done Marcus!

Went in to buy a new vacuum cleaner, walked around looking at the range in stock. Trying to figure out which one best suited my needs, eventually figured out which one I wanted. PS399 was more than I was looking to pay but that’s life. All the time the young lad who I assume was looking after the upstairs area was gazing out over the balcony, I gave up and approached and was told he would be over in a minute. 10mins later I just left, thought I’ll go online to get it and just click and collect. Figured this would be a quicker method but over an hour later and it wasn’t ready to be collected so I headed home.
By the following day I’d decided the customer service was that bad I wouldn’t feel happy handing my money over, so went in the store to collect and return or just cancel my order, only to be told they couldn’t do that instore. Having worked in retail for ten years I found it fairly absurd. Left without the vacuum and did a web chat online which was slow but got the job done, how they couldn’t sort it in person is beyond me.
It’s a good job they have no local competition or they would be closing down pretty soon. Shocking customer service, can only hope the three staff I spoke with aren’t indicative of all the staff.

Went in intending on purchasing a new washing machine. Looked at afew on shop floor. Decided on one. But no staff members around. Most where at or near the main desk. More concerned with decluttering that area than making sales. It took almost 5 minutes for someone to come over. Just to be told someone will be over shortly. Not exactly good customer service. With having family members with mobility and health problems. Standing waiting is very taxing on the body.

After mum got tired of waiting and decided to head out the store. I Spoke to staff member. Their attitude was a “well whatever and I don’t really care” sort of attitude. Again not helpful in any way.

The lift to go up to the upper floor was not exactly being a lift. The door didn’t want to close even following the instructions. Then when on the upper floor it didn’t “park” fully. So that was down.

Wasn’t a good experience overall.
