I recently had a deeply frustrating and upsetting experience at Currys in St. Helens, UK. I purchased an iPad for PS499 and a cover for PS22. Since the iPad was out of stock at the time, they promised to deliver it to my home. I bought the cover in-store because I didn’t want to make another trip.
When the iPad arrived, I tried to fit the cover, but it was defective and wouldn’t go on properly. The next day, I returned to the store, where multiple staff members tried and failed to make the cover fit. After several attempts, they finally acknowledged it was a manufacturer defect. However, they had no replacements in stock. When I requested a refund, they flatly refused, insisting that I needed the paper receipt, even though I provided my transaction details, card information, and all the necessary proof of purchase.
The staff’s behavior throughout this process was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of assisting me as a valued customer, they seemed more interested in following rigid policies without any regard for customer satisfaction. Their lack of empathy and unwillingness to help left me feeling frustrated and disrespected.
The most appalling part of this experience was dealing with the store manager, Aaron. His attitude was shockingly arrogant and condescending. When I asked him if this situation amounted to cheating customers, he coldly agreed and said, “You do what you want; I can’t refund it.” His behavior was not only unprofessional but also felt discriminatory. The way he spoke to me was both rude and hurtful, making an already bad situation even worse.
This level of poor customer service is unacceptable. I expected far better from a store like Currys, but instead, I was treated with indifference and disrespect by both the staff and the manager. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this store, especially if Aaron is involved. This experience has left me questioning whether I’ll ever shop at Currys again.

I had an awful experience at Currys St. Helen’s last week, and I feel compelled to share it. My visit was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing, primarily due to the shockingly poor customer service.
When we arrived, we approached a staff member to ask for assistance. He casually told us to wait, which we did, expecting to be helped shortly. However, we ended up waiting for over 20 minutes with no one attending to us. During this time, we noticed several staff members just roaming around, standing together, and laughing, completely ignoring customers like us who were clearly in need of help.
Their attitude was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Not once did any of them approach us to offer assistance or even acknowledge our presence. It felt like they couldn’t care less about the customers in the store.
To make matters worse, the manager, Aaron, was no better. His behavior was utterly unacceptable. When we finally brought the issue to his attention, he was dismissive and unhelpful, showing absolutely no concern for the poor service we had received. It was clear that he didn’t care about customer satisfaction, which speaks volumes about the management at this store.
This kind of treatment is completely unfair and unacceptable. I will definitely not be returning to this Currys location, and I strongly advise others to avoid it as well if you expect to be treated with basic respect and decency.
After all of this I was hoping I’d finally receive it the following Monday only to check to find out I need to make yet another phone call (this is the 5th time) I am utterly tired of waiting for my repair. Awful and extremely stressful situation.
