Went in to pick up an online order. When I saw the confirmation email come through, I fully admit I didn’t look at the email until I got to store so I didn’t see the process about filling in information and I didn’t see the bit about needing a driving licence. I take full responsibility for this.

What I take serious objection to is being told by one member of staff that the manager can override this, to then have the manager point blank tell me, no I did have to have my licence. When I then returned having brought in my licence, I overheard the same manager telling the group of staff members he was chatting to previously that I’d come back, having forgotten my licence. I then had a different member of staff ask for my order details and name, then told me they actually didn’t need my licence for this order and that he didn’t know who told me that.

When I pointed at the manager who had told me no more than 5 minutes prior who was still propping himself up on the same desk, but now conveniently with his back to me, I got a very feeble apology and then the chap went straight on to trying to upsell.

Appalling customer service. Wish I’d used Amazon.

I had a very good experience at this location. I needed some basic appliances and the associate Owen was very willing and able to answer all the questions I had. While some of the particular items I wanted weren’t in stock, Owen offered good alternatives and helped me in the different sections of the store. He didn’t try to upsell me on product, he just listened and suggested what would be best for my everyday needs. He also helped me load everything into the car which was a welcome bonus. I am very pleased with everything I bought and the service that was provided!

It’s not this store’s fault itself. However, I bought a fridge 2 weeks ago and the water dispenser is already leaking. I used Currys 24/7 support and I talked with one of the agents on the chat box. He suggested that I should call a certain number in which other staff of members would assist me so I did. Yet, they just passed me to the manufacturing company’s help desk which was closed due to the weekend. The entire aftercare system is not customer-oriented, efficient or useful. It’s a shame this company is a monopoly in the industry of this country.
