I purchased a new Moto G9 sim free phone on Friday 21st May 2021 in store at the Kidderminster branch. I was asked to pick it up has late as possible on Monday the 24th May. I asked if the store could drop me a text or call to save me a wasted journey when it arrived “no problem”.
I popped in at six, Curry’s were open but not Carphone warehouse. So next day I rang I to check on my order. No one had been in touch as promised, I rang twice both calls dropped out automatically after a lot of music. Customer services said my phone was ready for collection.
In store was deserted with a few customers milling around, but no Carphone warehouse staff. I spoke to Jamie the Curry’s Manager who explained both members of staff had called in sick and he wasn’t able to get replacement staff, saying that they were having trouble with staff mental health problems. So I rang customer service again who were shocked at both members of staff being off. I explained I wished to cancel my order, but was told it had to be done in store. How with no one there, so it’s now in dispute with my credit card company.
I would give you no stars for this appalling service and wasting my time. ANYONE READING THIS BELIEVE IT, THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME TODAY..

I Phoned the Kidderminster store again, no answer. I know the in store phones are working because I rang them in store yesterday, I have to assume no staff showed up again. How can this level of service be possible for a company like this in 2021. I would expect some kind of response to this review, but responding to customers seems to be too much to ask of Curry’s Carphone warehouse.
Update 2024 Samsung A9 plus Tablet ordered and Paid for online, order cancelled due to no stock even though I have screen shots showing stock. Online Chat closed mid chat when politely asked why. This is a common theme with Curry’s, advertise a Great Deal and then cancell it minuets after (Does the deal actually exist when asked in store Can I order one – NO can I reserve one at the same price – NO) Do yourselves a favour use Amazon instead. This is the third time Curry’s have done this….when will I learn my lesson. See my previous Curry’s cancelled orders in the screen grabs below.
Curry’s if you want my order number to try to sort this shambles out leave me a Direct number to call, but you won’t respond will you!!
Unfortunately after spending 40 minutes of my life in the store, with excuses such as was it order and collect?? Or click and collect?? Meaning even though the store showed me available stock , it wouldn’t be ready if it was order and collect??????
Then after all that apparently it cancelled it self after eating my money, and having to wait for 72hours for a refund????
But if I want I can pay again so double money until I receive the refund????
I didn’t even have a simple apology from the manager, just that it must have been my fault?
I would strongly advise not to use this particular store, it’s certainly not customer focused with a don’t care next customer attitude.
