I recently visited Curry’s PC World to return a monitor and was met with an extremely disappointing experience. As soon as I reached the till, I encountered a staff member named Tommy, whose customer service was nothing short of appalling. He was arrogant and dismissive, making me feel unwelcome and undervalued. I couldn’t help but wonder if his attitude was influenced by the fact that I am a person of color and he is a white man.

Tommy informed me that I couldn’t return the monitor because it had been opened, stating that it’s standard policy not to accept returns on opened items. I explained that I ordered the monitor online and only discovered it was not adjustable after I opened it at home. As someone with a hidden disability, ordering online is a more convenient option for me. His response, suggesting that I should have come to the store to check the product before buying it, was incredibly insensitive and dismissive of my circumstances.

Thankfully, I asked to speak to the manager, who was extremely helpful. The manager explained that online purchases must be processed through an online return form. This was all Tommy needed to communicate instead of treating me with such disrespect.

I hope Curry’s PC World addresses this issue with their staff to ensure that all customers are treated with the respect and understanding they deserve.

I only gave one star because it was not possible to Give half or even none. I stood in the store for 15 minutes waiting to purchase a TV and a laptop. Also headphones are waited around, trying to get someone’s attention for 15 minutes one point I’m even waving my hat In the air, Employees, were walking around like zombies or standing in groups, chatting what they did yesterday or what they’re doing the weekend This is one you need To skip. This is not the first time this has happened in this store. The last time was upstairs when I was buying a cooker I had to come back downstairs and the management Come back upstairs with me so I can purchase a cooker. Even he told me some of the staff just walked round like zombies. Honestly, go elsewhere find another curry Store just don’t waste your day waste your time in this one.

Absolutely disgusted with attitude from the store manager Joe today, I brought back a defective wireless keyboard which had a button break off whilst typing, only recently bought this item and was told by Joe it’s not covered under warranty, I then contested this and was met with a hostile response, he said I broke it and it can’t be returned, I threatened with legal action and he called in Tommy who was brilliant and replaced the keyboard straight away, Joe then I then recorded shouting at me across the store that I am to blame and stop recording which I did, this could have been dealt with decently and professionally as Tommy did in the end, how joe is customer service manager of this store is beyond me.

The fact I felt the need to gain evidence of the interaction speaks volumes
