We are trying to furnish our new unfurnished home, so I have attatched some photos of a few items that we are going to buy from Currys PC World. This will hopefully give you an idea of what you could get and what prices. We went for a bottom-line range.
The staff are lovely and always happy to help, we were in the store for quite some time trying to sift through and decide what we actually wanted to buy, this was tough due to the huge variety! In the time we spent in store, we were approached by two lovely ladies at different times who both spent a fair amount of time with us, explaining and showing us items, recommending items and informing us about said items too. They were not pushy and they did not try to trick us into buying the most expensive things, instead they listened to us and therefore helped us. We did not buy anything, but now know exactly what we want to buy.
I have also bought a couple of phones from here as well as other things like speakers and TVs. All of which I have no complaints about what so ever.
Store staff are great. The companies ethics, terrible.
Staff are under a pressurised / threatening environment. This includes the store management team too.
Managers over the years have had many car park meetings with higher up people telling them to sort numbers or else.
This is why you get pressured to buy higher margin specific items. ‘Our expert loves’ is also part of this.
When COVID hit, head office got themselves to work at home ASAP, then proceeded to force store staff to confront black Friday numbers worth of customers with no staff just so those safe head office people make more money.
I haven’t worked for them now for a while but still don’t look back at the treatment fondly.
It’s a company that sells high tech goods but is still in the 80/90s for both infrastructure and business running.
Since leaving I have shopped with Currys for some AA batteries and that is it. Such a shame as the store team are an amazing set of individuals, management included
