I took my daughter’s phone to be repaired but was told by the owner that it couldn’t be fixed and that he would recycle the old one. So he sold me a refurbished iPhone which, unfortunately, is faulty- neither internet nor 4G work. I was planning to take it back to him to get it fixed but then had a terrible experience when I took my son’s phone in because it had a broken screen and had stopped working. The owner promised he would call me back with an update. He didn’t. I called about 15 times over the next 3 and a half weeks. Most of the time there was no answer, but when I did talk to him, he always had a different reason for not having the phone fixed. Firstly, he hadn’t had time to examine the phone; then he needed to order parts, which took over two weeks to arrive; then the technician had been away and hadn’t had a chance to look at the phone; then he told me the motherboard wasn’t working and that he had ordered another one and was waiting for it to arrive. Every single time I phoned or went in to the shop he assured me he would call me with an update. He didn’t phone me once. Eventually I went in again and he told me the motherboard was faulty and the phone could not be repaired. I asked for the phone back and asked again if he was sure it could not be repaired- he assured me that this was the case. Frankly, by this point I didn’t believe anything he said, so I looked online for a phone repair shop with good reviews (I wish I’d done this first time round!) and took it there. The guy there had the phone working in a couple of hours and phoned me back to let me know. I picked it up from the other place in Crookes and it’s working perfectly now. I now wonder if the first phone I took to Easy Tech could have been fixed too. My advice is look online and check the reviews. This place is to be avoided. Will never use again. How this place makes any money is a mystery- looking at other reviews I don’t know how he retains any customers.

Waste of time, waste of money, broke my phone even further, no respect for the customer. Don’t be taken in by the price and find somewhere else.

I wish I could leave 0 stars because I don’t think they should get even 1. I took a Nexus 5 with a broken screen to ‘Easy’ Tech for them to repair, and was told it would be done in a few days time. Upon collecting the phone, I found the back very poorly attached, and even worse: I now could not use my phone for more than 3 minutes without it shutting down. I took it back in February, and they continually returned it to me saying it was now fine, when nothing had changed! After several months of this (it’s now May!) they told me there was a corruption issue with the phone due to an update, so none of this could be their fault! I demanded a refund and the costs of damages and they said since it was not their fault they would only refund me my inital PS65 by putting the old, damaged screen on.

On top of all of this, I was told throughout that ‘they would contact me in a few days’ each time I returned. I was never contacted by them, and had to continually ring up for information. Very poor customer service.

In short, stay away.

I have been meaning to write this review for sometime.

Took in a Versus 10 inch Android tablet for screen replacement at the end of January this year.

Very disappointing service and outcome.

Whilst the man who worked in the shop was always very polite he took no responsibility for the lack of service or the fact (as he stated it) that they could not get the parts, it was always down to the technician. I would have preferred an honest position as to whether they were able to repair the tablet.

Three months later I took the tablet back as it was clearly never going to get repaired, however the shop keeper could not locate the charger for it. Once again it was the fault of the technician. He took my address with the promise of posting it out to me, it never arrived.

The shopkeeper offered me a ‘very good price’ on a Nexus 7.

My conclusion is that the shop would be better named Broomhill Easy-Fix because if it’s not an easy fix you may as well forget it.
