I had been having trouble charging my phone. I was trying to push the cable in. I saw online that in most cases the port needs to be cleaned. I didn’t want to ruin the port so thought might as well take it to a repair shop. There the representative just looked at the port and said that the pin looks bent we will have to replace the whole port which is going to cost you 180EUR. I even asked can it not be fixed by just cleaning. The representative replied “Nope looks bent to me”. Well considering I have this phone since 7 years, I thought it wouldn’t be worth to invest money to repair this. I struggled to charge my phone for multiple months thinking the port is bent and 6 months later thought let me try cleaning the port myself the worse that could happen is the port goes kaputt but my phone can still be charged wirelessly. Well I cleaned the charging port myself and guess what the charging port is just fine and still has all the functionality.
I do not advice you to do the same if you are facing similar issue. I am just sharing my experience.

They could have also just cleaned and checked first and then quoted me a price. I felt there was some money grabbing strategy used there by the representative. One could also argue that they would’ve just quoted a higher price thinking its the worst and at the time of payment charge me lesser. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and a star extra for it.
