Google is deleting my review without letting me know and why. I am so angry with this place that I will come back periodically to check if my review is still on. While I was working in Birtley my Iphone lost signal along with the possibilities to switch on bluetooth and wifi and also use the wallet so I asked a work colleague to show me the closest phone repair shop in the area. Brought my phone here and was told it will take a day to get fixed and cost between PS70 and PS160 worst case scenario. Came back the next day to find out it was not ready and he needs more time. So I gave it a week and nothing happened. Came back the next and was told it needs some components replaced and he is waiting for them from China and that’s why it’s taking so long. One week became two and my job was coming to an end. As I went to pick my phone when I was about to leave Birtley it was shown to me it was still in pieces so I agreed to leave it until it will get fixed. Another week goes by and I get a phone call that my phone is ready but the new cost is PS220. Obviously I was reluctant to the increase and asked to have it sent with an invoice that never came so as I can at least see why. Made a bank transfer and received the phone a few days later just to see that the only thing that was fixed was the signal. Called the shop to ask why it was not fixed properly to be told that I did not mention Bluetooth and the other issues but only signal and to send it back. At this point I realised this was a problem that was beyond his ability so I refused to have it sent back. A week later while I was on a plane going on holiday the phone broke down again so I took it this time to a specialised Iphone repair shop. As soon as I gave him the phone and explained the issue he knew exactly what was wrong with it. He told me the phone has 2 motherboards that are soldered together and they sometimes separate. He told me it can be fixed and will cost PS200 because it takes around 6 hours of work as it is a very delicate operation as he has to clean the solder and replace it. When back the next day and took the phone back fully working and also with a confirmation that all the components in it were the original ones and the only repair attempted on it was a warming up of the soldering to somehow have the motherboards come back together. At this point I called the Birtley Phone repair Center and explained what happened step by step while asking for a refund. After a 10 minute insane phone conversation he was only agreeing to pay me back PS70 if I take off the review while I was asking for the full refund as I was lied to and my phone was not repaired at which he told me I am trying to get a free repair. I told him I will leave the review on if I don’t get a full refund at which he replid “that’s fine, it’s only one bad review”
He knows very well he lied to me and that he undertook a repair that was beyond his skills but kept going with it like I was the lying one. As I said at the beginning I will back time and time again to see if my review is still on as this is the only thing I got for my money, a review to vent my anger and disappointment with this place.
