I got caught out in the rain waiting for a taxi, and the following day, found the touch screen of my phone wasn’t fully responsive, making it unusable. I needed a speedy repair, so came to Fone World as they review well on Google. To their credit, they did replace the touch screen, and I can use my phone again. They warned the fingerprint reader may not work, and may need a factory reset.

Well, guess what, the fingerprint reader doesn’t work, and doesn’t work following a factory reset. I’ve read several online guides on how to re-calibrate the finger print scanner, but my phone is behaving as if the finger print scanner is no longer present. I’ve reached out via email to see whether the components used in the repair are genuine and even include a finger print reader, but have heard nothing back.

I would appreciate some clarity on this, as I came to Fone World to return my device to full functionality, not to have one component repaired at the loss of another.

I brought my phone in to have the battery changed but the phone wouldn’t turn on afterwards.

They then took the phone to be repaired and said it would take a few days.

I had to call every couple of days to get an update (they never contacted me despite saying they would) and was always told it wasn’t ready yet, they needed to order parts, or similar.

I finally got my phone back FIVE WEEKS later. If they had said “it will take 3 weeks” that would be one thing, but I was always told “just a couple more days 100%”.

They also tried to charge me for the repair, despite the fact the phone worked when I gave it to them. I complained and they agreed to just charge for the battery.

The phone was returned to working condition so I won’t give 1 star, but having to wait for 5 weeks is incredibly long and I felt like I was being stringed along. Trying to charge extra after all that is also outrageous.

Hands down the best phone shop I have ever been to. Mohamed and his team were friendly, efficient, patient and unbelievably helpful. Not to mention the prices were incredibly competitive. The best thing? I walked in with a broken phone, Mohamed takes it from me there and then, gets the back off it, inspects it, cleans it, fixes the speaker, changes the battery, reseals it and replaces the protector. All within 10 mins while I wait! Amazing service. And super friendly guys. I cannot recommend this team more highly.
