The Good :
The quality of workmanship was excellent – the replacement screen was fitted really professionally. The team completed the repair quickly and when they said they would.
The Bad :
The replacement screen is much dimmer than the original and has a pronounced blue/green colour cast. It’s much less contrasty. There is no way this could be considered a reasonable or equivalent replacement for the original.
The Worst : When I asked about this afterwards, they told me that they knew this was the case with non-genuine screens but that genuine parts are much more expensive. I had originally asked for a genuine screen and was told they couldn’t get one. At no point did they say the replacement would be sub-standard. I work a lot with images so having a screen that is so far from accurate with colours is a real problem. If they had explained this to me, I wouldn’t have chosen that screen as a replacement.
It wasn’t a cheap repair and I would have rather have put the money towards a new phone than a poor quality repair.
