So, after my PS3,000 Pioneer Kuro died a year after the warranty expired (media box had faulty components so had intermittent failures). I contacted Pioneer who referred me to Gwynne Ltd etc. I read a few reviews and was initially worried, but as I had no choice in the repair I contacted the team regardless.
I submitted a web form detailing what the issue was along with the TV details, one of the service desk team contacted me within a few hours to arrange an engineer and informed me it was likely the TV would need to be taken away (along with the faulting media box which controls it).
The engineer was booked for 2 days later, they text me the night before to give me a 4 hour slot and also gave me a call 1 hour prior to showing up to let me know they were on their way. Two engineers showed up, nice as pie and quite knowledgeable about the fault – within a few minutes they’d confirmed that a circuitry repair would be needed so they securely disconnected, dismounted and packaged my TV. They gave me a quote of PS99 for the site visit and removal (inc return eventually) and also told me it would cost about PS50 at a later date for the parts and labour. Informed me I may have the TV back within 7-10 days dependent on parts availability and testing.
I called back a week later after not hearing anything, the service desk member told me the parts were still on order – a few days later to confirm the parts were in and if I’d be happy to pay the additional PS50 over the phone for the work to be completed, of which I obviously agreed to.
2 days later they contacted me to say the repair was done and the TV had been tested and was working as normal again! They arranged delivery for the following Monday between 8:30am – 12pm. The engineer called me at 9am Monday morning to let me know they were on their way and would be with me in 45 minutes, they turned up almost exactly on the dot. Re-installed the TV on the wall and reconnected everything, we ran through some tests and validated it was all working.
So, with the exception of not hearing anything after a week and having to call up just to check the status – which is not really a major issue. I am incredibly happy with the service, I would have been happy if they’d quoted me PS1500 to fix my impeccable Kuro, so having to only pay only PS150 for the repair made my year! They have a lot of Pioneer experience which is why Pioneer use them as an authorised service centre.
TV was returned with 3 months standard warranty also, in case of any return/other issues. Very happy with the service and will definitely use these guys again should I experience anymore issues.
They messaged me the day before as they said they would, and the 2 engineers that advised were on time, very professional, respectful of the property, and happy to answer questions.
They were quick on the repair, and it meant I didnt have to send my tv somewhere else and would have had to wait.
Very happy with the service and for Samsung’s quick and efficient response to get these team to help me.
