Struggled with home wifi set up for years with a patchy network largely down to the brick internal walls in our 1950s house. John from Harrison IT visited to assess the problem and came up with a proposal that incorporated hard-wiring to some rooms to support for example gaming and zoom meetings and some kit that would hopefully provide better wifi at the back of the house and upstairs.

Covid delayed the project for a few weeks but John kept us informed of developments and booked us in as quickly as he could, attending on a Saturday to conclude the work. On the day, John explained what he was doing and why and encouraged my involvement with the work which has greatly improved my understanding of our new network which is working well. John took care with the installation and was thoughtful about how the work was carried out, minimising hole drilling and discreetly running cables. All the network equipment was tested in advance of installation as were the cables, so the network was fully functioning at the end of a long day and the project objectives have been fully achieved.

The cost of the job was very reasonable and John didn’t penny pinch ensuring that there was sufficient cable to allow for future equipment movement and providing a number of miscellaneous items without charge. It is reassuring that John is available at the end of a phone to assist with any queries and should we need to develop the network further in the future, I will have no hesitation to contact Harrison IT. We’d cabled our home a few years ago, but never got around to finishing the job off, leaving cables hanging out of walls and a dodgy patch panel serving the few sockets we had managed to finish. So we called Harrison IT to see if they could help us tidy all this up, and John paid us a visit the very same night for an initial assessment. He provided a quote there and then (a very reasonable price given the state of our setup), and a couple of weeks later he carried out the job itself. A very friendly, professional service (he wore a mask throughout) and John was more than happy to share nuggets of knowledge as he went about the task at hand. Very happy with the end result.
